- The Art Institutes International at San Francisco, a post-secondary,degree granting educational institution, is seeking a qualified candidateto serve as ACADEMIC DIRECTOR for its computer, multimedia and graphicdesign programs. The Academic Director (AD) is the principle academicofficer for the media design programs. His primary role is to providesupport and guidance to students and faculty and to maintain a leadershiprole in all program functions. This position requires making decisions andoperating in a coordinated effort with the Dean and program specificadvisory committees. The AD is co-responsible with the Dean of Educationfor the fiscal well being of the program. The Director participates inactivities that market the program to perspective students and thecommunity. Required skills: In addition to computer skills, Masters degreerelated to one of the program areas; At least 3-5 years experience ineducation and industry; Ability and experience in fiscal and personnelmanagement; Strong oral and written communication skills; StrongInterpersonal skills; The ability to act effectively as a leader and memberof a team; And knowledge of traditional art and animation, characteranimation, 3D modeling and animation, graphic design, and multimediascripting. Job Starting Date: January 1, 2000.

- DEADLINE EXTENDED ! Rhode Island School Of Design is looking for anASSISTANT PROFESSOR for its Film/Animation/Video Department. This is a fulltime faculty position beginning September 2000. Applicants should be ableto teach a variety of animation techniques, be familiar with newtechnologies and conversant with live-action filmmaking; be able to teacheffectively, creatively, and meaningfully at all levels of animationproduction; have a good sense of story development; have a history ofpersonal work, exhibition, and experimentation in animation, along withcollege teaching experience. A Master of Fine Arts degree or the equivalentin personal artwork or professional experience is required. Applicantsshould be familiar with production in film, digital media, video, andaudio. The job involves teaching introductory film animation productioncourses to both animation majors and non-majors, in addition to othercourses.
