Jillianne K. Reinseth joins Studio B Prods. as director of development. She will head up Studio Bs new in-house content creation division, called the B-HIVE, and develop projects from external pitches as well.
Reinseth was a development producer with broadcaster Jetix Europe; senior manager, creative affairs at Walt Disney TV Animation; and also was manager, original series for ABC Cable Networks Group (Disney Channel).
Studio B encourages pitches from internal staff on series ideas, said partner Chris Bartleman. Jillianne will work with our staff to further develop these concepts and produce animated shorts. We may use the shorts to pitch broadcasters and potential co-production partners around the world on a series and enter the finished work into film festivals. The opportunities are endless.
Once a short is internally greenlit, the creator is given his/her choice of role in making the short. A production team is handpicked from the up-and-comer in the organization, giving them the opportunity to take on new roles and to work with more experienced staff on the project. Reinseth will be a driving force in this undertaking.
Studio B featured two shorts produced from staff ideas at this years MIPCOM Junior. LOOK WHAT MY SISTER DRAGGED IN was created and directed by Rob Boutielier, a Studo B storyboard supervisor. The short was in the top 15 shows screened at the tradeshow amongst 947 entries. SUPER VILLAIN, which was also well received, came from the PUCCA creative team of Kevin Long, Greg Sullivan, Jayson Thiessen, Dallas Parker and Kirsten Newlands.
