Jetix Europe Seeks to Fill Programming VP Spot

Jetix Europe announced today (Sept. 22, 2006) that Michael Lekes has resigned from his position as svp of programming for personal reasons. He leaves the company at the end of September after four years service. Jetix Europe actively seeking a replacement to take over the leadership of its content division as soon as possible.

In the interim, Paul Taylor, ceo of Jetix Europe will work closely with the pan-European programming team, the local Jetix Channel programming heads and the companys commercial partners, including Disney, to ensure the continued delivery of great content for Jetix, a company statement said.

It is with regret that I announce that Michael has resigned and will be leaving Jetix at the end of this month, said Taylor. I would like to thank him for his support, hard work and contribution to the company and wish him well in the future.

I am actively seeking a replacement for Michael, in order to develop and deliver brand-defining Jetix content for our channels and businesses in the multiplatform marketplace.

Jetix is the global kids entertainment brand launched by Jetix Europe and The Walt Disney Co. (ABC Cable Networks Group and Jetix Latin America) in 2004. Jetix programming reaches more than 270 million television households in 80 countries and 25 languages worldwide. Jetix Europe is a leading kids entertainment company with localized television channels, program distribution and consumer products businesses in Europe and the Middle East. Jetix Europes 14 Jetix television channels entertain kids aged 6-14 in 58 countries and 18 languages, reaching more than 43 million households across Europe and the Middle East. In addition the company has launched GXT a pay-TV channel in Italy targeting teenage boys.
