Jetix Block To Premiere On New Animation Channel In South Korea

Buena Vista International Television - Asia Pacific (BVITV-AP) struck a multi-year agreement for a Jetix block on CHAMP, a new animation channel that will be carried on both cable and satellite platforms in South Korea.

CHAMP takes its name from a popular comic book series in South Korea. A joint venture between Daewon digital broadcast and CJ Media, will launch on May 2, 2005, and has positioned itself as a 24-hour channel that will showcase the best in action and adventure animation.

Jetix, a global action-adventure brand that reaches more than 104 million households internationally through its terrestrial branded blocks, will air on CHAMP as a daily one-hour block Monday to Friday. This Jetix block will include the action/fantasy series W.I.T.C.H., the new action-packed series SUPER ROBOT MONKEY TEAM HYPERFORCE GO! and the futuristic, hi-tech series A.T.O.M. ALPHA TEENS ON MACHINES.

The high energy Jetix brand is a perfect match for CHAMP, said Steve Macallister, svp/md, BVITV-AP. We are delighted to be providing CHAMP with premium action adventure titles that will drive viewing to the channel.

This exciting range of Jetix programs has found a wonderful home on CHAMP, added Young-bin Kwak, programming director, Champ Vision Inc. Together, we are confident that CHAMP and Jetix will help each other build a valuable brand and strong following in Korea.

BVITV-APs Soojin Chung, head of sales, Korea negotiated the agreement.
