Los Angeles and Vancouver --

Character and creature effects company MASTERSFX announced the addition of Jennifer Saeta as its new Vice President of Operations.

The member of an entertainment industry family comprised of four generations of filmmakers, Jennifer Saeta’s professional makeup career in the entertainment industry began with her work on such blockbuster feature film projects as the first Spider-Man, the first Iron Man feature, and The Kingdom.

In 2008, Saeta decided to expand her horizons and explore new opportunities in sales and marketing, where she found a passion for selling a number of new, high-end products and services to a broad, corporate client base. Her sales and marketing experience culminated in her being selected as VP of Sales for Comar, a global, chartered private jet company, prior to her joining MASTERSFX in July 2012.

“Jennifer and I started working together more than a decade ago, on Disney’s Hidalgo,” said MFX founder Todd Masters. “She’s a skilled makeup artist, and I’ve admired her as a businessperson as well. A few years ago, I watched Jennifer step away from the film industry, and into the more steady world (wink wink) of product sales to ‘normal’ people. I watched as she quickly out-sold everyone else in her field. Her powers of persuasion were truly amazing! However, she recently mentioned to me that she was interested in the growth and new directions we’ve been taking at our studios, and even expressed interest in returning to ‘the biz.’ Obviously, I jumped at the chance to bring Jennifer’s energy into our shop.”

Saeta said, “I’m thrilled to be joining MASTERSFX. Todd and his team are among the most successful character and creature builders in the world. I will be spearheading all of our overall operations at both our Los Angeles and Vancouver shops, working closely with all of our film and TV clients. I will also be charged in helping us expand our business outgrowth into new directions.”

Founded in 1987 by Emmy Award winner Todd Masters, MASTERSFX is currently celebrating its 25th year.  With effects studios in Vancouver, British Colombia, and Los Angeles, the company’s creative teams produce a unique blend of practical and digital effects for such hit film and TV projects as Fringe, Falling Skies, True Blood, Underworld: Awakening, and the soon to be released feature films Area 51, Sinister and Vamps.
