Jay Jay Flies Onto Video with Paramount & PBS

Paramount Home Ent. and PBS Home Video have acquired the North American rights to PorchLight Ent.s JAY JAY THE JET PLANE, with plans to relaunch the property on home video in the spring of 2006. Under the multi-year deal, Paramount Home Ent. will distribute and market a minimum of two new titles per year in North America under the PBS Kids label.

The series airs daily on PBS stations across the U.S., and there are currently 80 12-minute episodes available. Ten new episodes are in production for this fall featuring interactive learning concepts, Spanish words and a new Hispanic airplane character.

"Building upon the momentum we've generated to date with PBS Home Video to relaunch this property into the home entertainment marketplace is truly exciting," said Meagan Burrows, the president of Paramount Pictures Domestic Home Ent. "Given our expertise and track record with children's franchises, we have every confidence that we can generate tremendous awareness and sales for JAY JAY THE JET PLANE."

Amy Bevilacqua, senior director of consumer products at PBS, added, "Our very successful relationship that was launched last year with Paramount Home Ent. continues to build the PBS KIDS brand while making kids' favorite programs available to them for viewing at anytime. JAY JAY THE JET PLANE touches thousands of preschoolers' lives and gives them an introduction to science and nature, along with valuable life lessons such as caring, sharing and valuing friendship. These new videos are certain to broaden and expand that reach to new and future fans."
