James Collins Joins Guava

Visual effects studio Guava has signed seasoned animator and designer James Collins to its roster. He recently completed a spot for GMC via Lowe Worldwide with Guava. He comes from Click 3X, where he rebuilt the CG department and headed the team.

"In addition to providing an environment that is conducive to creativity, Guava offers a very talented staff," said Collins. "I am eager to contribute my skills while also learning from the experienced artists here. At Guava, I hope to help clients nurture their ideas and solve their creative needs."

Hailing from New York and graduating from school in New Jersey, Collins moved to Texas early on in his career, where he worked at a boutique animation company for four years. Soon after, he was faced with the opportunity to go into the film industry at Disney, but instead decided to join the 3D department at the award-winning company, Telezign, that specializes in broadcast IDs and rebranding. There, he worked on high-profile projects for clients including CBS, ESPN, HBO and SCI FI, in addition to motion graphics and design work.

Drawing animators, producers, designers, 3D and vfx artists from a global pool, New York-based visual effects company Guava (www.guavanyc.com) is dedicated to making imagery for commercials and other media, such as music videos, film, and art installations, including work in the permanent collection of MOMA.
