HEAT VISION reports that the start of production on Bryan Singer's JACK THE GIANT KILLER has been delayed from this summer to February 2011. The reason for the delay is visual effects preparation. The effects-driven film will be prevized completely with Singer using technology that allows him to see the digital characters in the frame while filming the live actors.

The story follows a farm boy who must journey to the land of giants to rescue a kidnapped princess. Singer has had meetings with Aaron Johnson (KICK-ASS) and Andrew Garfield (THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS) about playing the lead role.

New Line and Legendary Pictures are producing.
