It's a Bird, it's a Plane, it's…Smallville on DVD

The WB's popular SUPERMAN spinoff series, SMALLVILLE, comes to DVD in THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON set (Warner Home Video, $64.92) on Sept. 23, 2003. The deluxe six-disc package offers the origins of the characters, numerous plotlines and deleted scenes and other bonus features. Inspired by the first Action Comics from 1938, SMALLVILLE portrays the young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) as an average teen trying to cope with his mysterious supernatural powers long before he becomes Superman, along his unrequited romance with Lana Lang (Kristen Kreuk) and rivalry with Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum). Along with the first 21 episodes, the set include audio commentary on the pilot and first episode by producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, an interactive tour of Smallville and storyboards. Deena Burkett serves as visual effects supervisor and John Decker is the CG supervisor from RIOT Pictures.
