ITFS Issues Final Call for Entries for 2016 Edition

Deadline for the International Competition at the 23rd Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film is December 1; Animated Com Award deadline is January 15.

Organizers of the 23rd edition of the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film have issued a final call for entries. The festival runs April 26 - May 1, 2016 in Stuttgart, Germany.

For the four following competition categories the deadline is on December 1, 2015:

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

  • Grand Prix
    State of Baden-Württemberg and City of Stuttgart Grand Award for Animated Film with a cash prize of 15,000 euros.
  • Lotte Reiniger Promotion Award for Animated Film
    Award for the best graduation film with a cash prize of 10,000 euros. Sponsored by MFG Film Funding Baden-Württemberg.
  • SWR Audience Award
    6,000 euros in prize money.

YOUNG ANIMATION (International student film competition)

  • The award for the best student film is accompanied by 2,500 euros in prize money and is sponsored by Landesanstalt für Kommunikation Baden-Württemberg and MFG Film Funding Baden-Württemberg.
  • The FANtastic Award with a cash prize of 1.000 euros. Prize for the best animation talent – donated by the Animation Family, the most faithful fans of ITFS.

TRICKS FOR KIDS (International competition for animated shorts and series for children)

  • The award for the best children’s animated short film totals 4,000 euros and is sponsored by Studio 100 Media GmbH. The winner is selected by a jury of children.
  • The prize for the best animated series for children is sponsored by MIP Junior (free registration for participating at MIPJunior 2016. Inclusion of the winning series in the MIPJunior Digital Library). The winner is selected by an expert jury.

ANIMOVIE (International competition for animated feature length film)

  • Award for the best animated feature length film.

Be sure to carefully read the entry regulations before entering your film. Find all information and submission forms here. To submit your film, please use online platform itfs.picturepipe.net. There you will find the online registration form, and you can also upload your film. Films can also be submitted on DVD.

Also there is still time to submit work for the 48H Animation Jam and the Animated Com Award.

Crazy Horse Session – 48H Animation Jam
The Live Animation Competition of the 23rd Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film

48 hours of non-stop animating at the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film 2015? All those who are ready to take the challenge are invited to apply for the Crazy Horse Session – 48H Animation Jam till February 1, 2016.

Animation students as well as independent animators and animation producers aged 30 years or younger may participate. The organizers will choose four to five teams from all of the applicants. All of the teams, each with two members, must develop within 48 hours an animated film between 30 seconds and 2 minutes) using the same character – the Festival’s mascot Trixi.

Start: Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at noon / End: Friday, April 29, 2016 at noon.

Deadline for applications: February 1, 2016.

A jury will select the best film. All films will be presented during the 48h Animation Jam award ceremony.

Animated Com Award
Animated Com Award: Prizes will be awarded for outstanding work in the areas of advertising, spatial communication and technology, the special award of the Daimler AG and the Lapp Connected Award.

Entry deadline for all categories of the Animated Com Award is January 15, 2016.
