THE IRON GIANT will be honored Saturday morning at 10:30 am at Mann'sChinese Theater in Hollywood when a supersized footprint (12' by 6') willbe presented by the filmmakers and stars in the forecourt of the historictheater. (Because of prior commitments, the Giant will be unable toattend.) Johnny Grant, the honorary mayor of Hollywood, will emcee theevent. Cast and crew will attend the film's premiere following thepresentation of the footprint. Among those in attendance will be thecelebrities lending their voices to the upcoming Warner Bros. animatedfeature (including Vin Diesel, Eli Marienthal and others), plus the film'sdirector, Brad Bird, and producer Allison Abbate, as well as Danny DeVito,Rhea Perlman, Wallace Langham (VERONICA'S CLOSET), brothers Andy, Joey andMatt Lawrence, and Jonathan Penner (RUDE AWAKENING). Eagerly awaited, THEIRON GIANT is about a 9-year-old boy named Hogarth who rescues a 50-footmetal, childlike giant outside of the small town of Rockwell, Maine in1957. The film will debut on Wednesday in New York and Los Angeles, andthen go into wide release on Friday, August 6, but fans throughout theworld can get a sneak peek of ten minutes from the film on the internet atwww.theirongiant.com beginning this Saturday night at 5 pm PST, andcontinuing until midnight PST. On Sunday, sneak previews will be held intheaters throughout the country. Check your newspapers for details.
