iO Film Promotes Evan Edelist

iO Film, a technologically advanced, full-service digital film finishing facility specializing in film and video projects, has promoted Evan Edelist from svp/development to gm/evp. Edelist will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, overseeing production, scheduling and sales.

He will also help design the companys new 26,000-square-foot Hollywood facility, slated for a summer 2005 movie-in, working closely with iO Films cto Kevin Mullican.

Evan has a tremendous knowledge of digital intermediate and HD technology and how best to utilize these new toolsets, Tim Krubsack, president, iO Film. He can help any film or television producer get a job through the iO Film facility. Additionally, he will help guide us with our future expansion plans, helping us reach our goal of becoming the premiere digital intermediate facility in Los Angeles.

A 21-year veteran of the post-production industry, Edelist had been iO Films svp, development/head of new business, since early 2004. Before joining iO Film, he was svp, digital film production and new business development, with Technique from 2001-2003, where he was involved with a broad array of major feature film projects, including ENVY, KILL BILL, VOL. 1, PANIC ROOM, THE HUMAN STAIN, CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND, 13, SEABISCUIT and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN.

Edelist was vp, post-production, with New Line Cinema, from 1996-2001 (a position he also held during an earlier time frame, from 1989-94.) There he was involved in all technical and digital mastering for the studios major films, including the transfer of the studios library to high-definition and DVD.

He also was vp, worldwide product fulfillment, with Sony Pictures from 1994-96, during which time he contributed to building an HD scanner. He also helped build the HD and DVD Centers for Sony. Other major positions held by Edelist include post-production manager with Orion Pictures and international servicing coordinator with Vestron Video.
