Anthony Peckham (INVICTUS) has been hired to pen the next installment of the Jack Ryan spy franchise, reports Heat Vision. Adam Cozad wrote an earlier draft. Chris Pine is set to play the lead spy in the Paramount Picture's production.
The new film will reboot the franchise, following the start of Ryan's career in Russia dealing with terrorists.
Jack Bender (LOST) will helm with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mace Neufeld on as producers.
The studio hopes production will start at the end of year, early next year.
Based on Tom Clancy's book series, the film franchise includes: THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, starring Alec Baldwin; PATRIOT GAMES and CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, starring Harrison Ford; and THE SUM OF ALL FEARS, starring BEN AFFLECK.
