Access to new DVD and Blu-ray releases from Warner Bros. will not be available for rental until 28 days after their release, according to an accord the studio reached with Netflix, VARIETY reports.

Warner Bros. is the first major studio to broker such an agreement with the popular DVD-by-mail service. About 75 percent of DVD and Blu-ray sales occur during the first four weeks of release, the studio said. Warner Home Video first started making waves last summer when it began wanting to impose delays. As part of the deal, Netflix also gained more inventory overall, particularly with increased access to content on its online streaming service.
