An anonymous MORTAL KOMBAT short popped up on YouTube. LATINO REVIEW reports that the short is indeed a test for an R-rated reboot, directed by Kevin Tancharoen (FAME) to persuade Warner Bros. to his vision of the film.

The short's cast includes Michael Jai White (UNDISPUTED II) as Jacks, Jeri Ryan (STAR TREK: VOYAGER) as Sonya Blade, Lateef Crowder (UNDISPUTED III) as Baraka, martial artist Matt Mullins as Johnny Cage and Ian Anthony Dale (TEKKEN) as Scorpion. Larnell Stovall choreographed the fights.
