Icebox, Inc., an original animation destination, has inked a content deal with comedian and co-creator of DR. KATZ, Jonathan Katz, to write and produce new animated shows. The first series will be AGAINST THE GRAIN, which Katz will co-create with Tom Snyder, co-creator of DR. KATZ. "Jonathan is one of only a handful of successful creators of smart, primetime animated television series," said Icebox CEO Steve Stanford. "He is an exciting addition to Icebox's roster of outstanding television and film writers and we are anxious to see what he will produce when given the creative freedom that Icebox affords its writers." Besides his various writing credits, Katz won an Emmy for his voice work on DR. KATZ. "My maternal grandparents met in a chat room, so it only seems right that I should continue what they began more than a hundred years ago," said Katz. "In my home, we spoke MS-DOS until I was eight and then we stopped talking." Katz joins Icebox’s line-up that includes REN & STIMPY creator and Web pioneer John Kricfalusi and Mike Reiss of THE CRITIC.
