Sony's ARMORED, which opened in theaters Dec. 4, was accidentally released on the company's PlayStation Network over the holidays, VARIETY reports.

"Due to an error, the movie 'Armored' was briefly available for download on PlayStation Network ahead of schedule," said a Sony Computer Entertainment rep, who estimated the breach to be a few hours. "It was removed from the service as soon as we became aware of the issue and we have taken steps to ensure this won't happen again."

It's likely Sony planned to release ARMORED on the PlayStation Network before the DVD release and just released it too early somehow, VARIETY added.
