Animax Series Off-Mikes Season Four Launches on ESPN.com
The fourth season of the Emmy Award-winning original animated broadband series, OFF-MIKES, produced by Animax Ent., has just launched on ESPN.com.
OFF-MIKES is a weekly animated series based on the ESPN Radio show, MIKE & MIKE IN THE MORNING, featuring Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg. Animax edits audio from the live radio program and then writes a fun, new take on the edited audio, playing up different personalities of Golic and Greenberg, while highlighting some of the funniest exchanges that have occurred. To view episodes of the series, go to:www.sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/news/story?page=offmikes.
The season kicks off with a reprise of classic episodes of OFF-MIKES from previous seasons, before new episodes start appearing on the site, said Animax md Michael Bellavia. "It's hard to believe that we're already into season four of this series. It's been a great experience for everyone at Animax to contribute to its success as one of the longest-running animated series on the Web."
GM's Hummer brand is a new program sponsor of the fourth season of OFF-MIKES. "This is an example of branded entertainment at its 2.0 finest," says Bellavia. "The Hummer role in each episode will be both obvious and subtle." The intro for the series, since its second season, has always included an homage to great TV partnerships of the past, featuring Golic and Greenberg as Sonny & Cher, Batman and Robin and Starsky & Hutch. In season four, instead of hopping into the classic red-and-white Gran Torino made famous by those TV cops, the Off-Mikes stars will hop into a souped-up Hummer.
In addition to its work for ESPN, Animax Ent. also produces original broadband animation for AOL, Disney and other leading entertainment companies.
Animax Ent. (www.animaxent.com) produces character-driven, comedic content for all screens. The studio creates viral media, broadband content, interactive games, animated virtual worlds and other entertaining experiences. Based in Culver City, California, with offices in Toronto, Animax client work and original programming has spanned online, on air, mobile and portable media.
