Aardman Signs Deal with iTunes U.K.
Aardman Animations has announced that its award-winning TV shows are now available for 1.89 GBP per episode from the iTunes Store in the U.K. (www.itunes.com/uk).
iTunes customers can choose from the Oscar-winning 30-minute WALLACE AND GROMIT specials A CLOSE SHAVE, THE WRONG TROUSERS and A GRAND DAY OUT, along with WALLACE AND GROMIT's series of nine short films, CRACKING CONTRAPTIONS, 25x1 episodes of ANGRY KID, 13x10 of cult television comedy series REX THE RUNT, and THE PEARCE SISTERS, which won the Special Jury Prize at Annecy '07 and the Cartoon d'Or at Cartoon Forum '07.
This latest move by Aardman into the digital arena follows a number of deals last year, which saw the company expanding its roster of programs to new online and mobile audiences through agreements with Joost, Rhythm, and Atom Films, and Player X in the U.S.
