Inky Mind Creates Cinematic ‘Tooth Fairy’ Short

Milan and London-based animation and VFX studio blends CG animation with gorgeous 2D backgrounds for cinematic spot.

Milan and London-based animation and VFX studio Inky Mind recently helped create “Tooth Fairy,” a cinematic short film for BUPA Dental via prodco Partizan and agency Hometown.

Directed by Margherita Premuroso, “Tooth Fairy” is a magical journey that blends 3D CGI with gorgeous 2D matte painted backgrounds:

Working with environment designers Lisa Recanatini and Lorenzo Premuroso, Margherita Premuroso created the characters and animation using Autodesk Maya, while VFX & 3D supervisor William Lorenzetti employed Chaos Group’s V-Ray for lighting and rendering. Matte paintings were created using Adobe Photoshop, and final compositing was handled using After Effects.
