IGN Releases Its Best of 2005 Picks

IGN.com has unveiled its extensive picks for the best games, movies, DVDs and comics of the year.

For PlayStation 2, Sony Computer Ent.s GOD OF WAR won Game of the Year. For Xbox, Game of the Year went to JADE EMPIRE from Microsoft and BioWare. Game of the Year for Xbox 360 was awarded to CALL OF DUTY 2. For PC, the Game of the Year went to CIVILIZATION IV. RESIDENT EVIL 4 garnered the Game of the Year prize for Nintendo GameCube. For GameBoy Advanced, WARIO WARE TWISTED! took home the Game of the Year honors. On Nintendo DS, the Game of the Year was MARIO KART DS. GRAND THEFT AUTO: LIBERTY CITY STORIES won the Game of the Year for PSP. For wireless, I-play and Garmevils SKIPPING STONE snatched the Game of the Year.

As for movies, IGN named BATMAN BEGINS as its favorite. In the Best Animated Film category, WALLACE & GROMIT: THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT took the top prize. Winning Best Special Effects was KING KONG. In DVDs, the three-disc collectors edition of THE WIZARD OF OZ took DVD of the Year while in comics Best ongoing series went to Marvels ULTIMATES 2.
