The "Flyover Zone" is the name given to that area of the United States between New York and Los Angeles often viewed by industry executives from 35,000 feet above the earth. The IFP/Chicago Flyover Zone Festival is now accepting entries for films that are 30 minutes or less in length. Chosen films will be screened at the 11th Annual IFP/Chicago Independent Filmmaker's Conference, which will take place from November 8-9, 2002 in Chicago, Illinois. The categories are Student Films, Comedy Shorts, Dramatic, Non-Fiction and Experimental Shorts. To be eligible, films must have been produced in the Flyover Zone region or by filmmakers currently residing in the Flyover Zone region, defined as: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin. Films and videos must have been produced in 2001 or 2002. All films will compete for Best Of The Fest honors in each category.
