iAniMagic 2015 Mobile Animation Contest Announces New Prizes

Prizes for annual animation competition hosted on mobile devices include the Wacom Cintiq 13HD 13.3” Creative Pen & Touch Display, GoPro HERO4 BLACK 4K Action Camera, and Wacom Intuos pro Special Edition.

TAINAN CITY, TAIWAN -- Kdan Mobile has announced its annual iAniMagic 2015 contest. The competition will be hosted on Kdan Mobile’s Animation Desk and submissions will be open until December 6th, 2015. This year’s theme is focused on recreation and will challenge participants to see how far they can take their creativity.

Nicknamed “The Living Light Box”, Animation Desk requires its participants to animate a short story that makes use of two key frames featuring a simple box. Participants in the competition can choose their preferred frame rate as long as the beginning and final frames contain the required elements. Users must also create animations that are under10 seconds long.

Participants are encouraged to vie for two different categories. This year iAniMagic has added a dedicated section of prizes to an audience favorite’s category. Participants will be able to accumulate audience votes by including storyboards, scripts and other bonus material to enrich their submissions. They will also be able to invite their friends and family to join the community by voting and commenting on their favorite works of art.

An Animation Desk spokesperson offered these tips for entries:

  • Longer isn’t always better. Use your unlimited frames to create smoother animations, but keep in mind the ten second limit maximum.
  • Create a story and bring the audience into it. The beauty of the box is that imagination can create anything.
