Josh Hutcherson (JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH) is set to star and exec produce DETENTION, a teen horror comedy, reports VARIETY. He joins Dane Cook. Music video director Joseph Kahn is helming.
The story follows a high school senior class stalked by a slasher-movie killer that jumps into the real world. Kahn wrote the script with Mark Palermo.
Kahn will also produce with Richard Weager, Maryann Tanedo and David Kang. Bob Abramoff is another exec producer.
Production will start in September in Los Angeles.
