The Hub Contemplating a Write Down

The Hub, the new kids network from Discovery Communications and Hasbro, is looking into whether it needs to write down the company's value, writes The Hollywood Reporter.

The Hub, the new kids network from Discovery Communications and Hasbro, is looking into whether it needs to write down the company's value, writes The Hollywood Reporter. Since its launch in October, the network has had a difficult time finding an audience. Recently, it lowered its licensing fees it pays for animated content. A good portion of the network's content is now provided by Hasbro Studios. The shows include TRANSFORMERS PRIME, MY LITTLE PONY FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC and G.I. JOE RENEGADES. The drop in licensing fees automatically triggers the company to analyze its intangible asset and goodwill value. The accounting process to determine the amount of the write down will be completed by the third quarter.
