HP Offers Entire Family of FireGL Graphics Cards

ATI Technologies Inc. announced that its entire lineup of FireGL workstation graphics accelerators has been selected by HP for the xw4100 workstations. HP customers can now choose from entry-level to high-end graphics solution to meet the demands of professional CAD and DCC applications running on both desktop and mobile platforms. As the latest addition to the FireGL family, the 256MB FireGL X2-256t joins the entry-level FireGL T2-128 and the mid-range FireGL X1-128 in delivering robust 3D performance for OpenGL and DirectX 9 applications at a significant savings over competing products.

The award-winning FireGL products are available with HPs xw4100 IA-32 workstations and are certified for the leading DCC and CAD applications, such as 3dsmax, Maya, Softimage, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Catia. ATIs FireGL family of products is supported by a unified driver, facilitating cost-effective system administration and upgrades.

The turbo-charged FireGL X2-256t is the performance leader in the marketplace in the sub-$1000 category, said Dinesh Sharma, director, Workstation Products, ATI. By extending their workstation configurations to include this new graphics solution, HP demonstrates its commitment to offering customers high performance graphics with full ISV certification at a competitive price.

The new FireGL X2-256t complements HPs wide range of personal workstations available today, said Jim Zafarana, vp/worldwide marketing manager, Workstation Global Business Unit, HP. Now HP CAD, DCC and visual simulation users can select from a variety of certified FireGL products to best meet their needs.

The FireGL X2-256t features 256MB of DDR memory, dual DVI-I output and a visual processing unit with eight parallel pixel processors and four geometry engines. All FireGL products come with a three-year warranty and unlimited direct access to a dedicated workstation technical support team.
