Hornet Welcomes Blue Sky Alum Christopher Scollard

Design, animation and visual effects studio Hornet, Inc., has added veteran director and visual effects supervisor Christopher Scollard to its New York commercial roster. Scollard's current work for Hornet includes directing spots for Mattel via Foote Cone & Belding Worldwide, as well as two game openers that the New York Jets will use during the upcoming football season. Scollard noted, "Because Hornet is a small company that is growing, it provides a unique opportunity for me. I had that opportunity once at Blue Sky. I was Blue Sky's 30th employee and then they went up to almost 200 at one point. Given the concentrated talent and dedication of their people, I see the same potential at Hornet. We are dedicated to the work at hand and can be concerned only with quality." Scollard served as a director, visual effects supervisor and producer for many Blue Sky Studio commercial, film and television projects. His credits with the CG-animation studio include work on THE SOPRANOS, FIGHT CLUB, TITAN AE, STAR TREK: INSURRECTION and ALIEN RESURRECTION. After leaving Blue Sky in 2000, Scollard went on to work as a visual effects supervisor for TV and commercial projects, and as an animation director for Kleiser-Walczak. In 2001, Scollard produced the 23-minute space theater presentation THE SEARCH FOR LIFE: ARE WE ALONE? for the Hayden Planetarium at New York's American Museum of Natural History. Scollard is the sixth former Blue Sky employee to move to Hornet. He joins fellow Blue Sky alums Michael Feder, Hornet partner and executive producer, and Hornet animation director Steve Talkowski, among others.
