Honk, Toot and Swo-Swoosh Wins CINE Golden Eagle

HONK, TOOT AND SWO-SWOOSH, a 3D, preschool series, has been awarded a CINE Golden Eagle in the Childrens Programs category.

Winners in this round include: WGBH, A&E Network, Discovery Channel, Public Television Service Taiwan, National Geographic, Thirteen/WNET, NOVA/WGBH, CNN, History Channel, MSNBC, PBS, Oxygen Media, THE NEWS HOUR WITH JIM LEHRAR and Sesame Workshop.

HONK, TOOT AND SWO-SWOOSH is a production of Creative Graphics of Mijdrecht, Holland, in association with Chocolate Moose Media of Ottawa, Canada. Firdaus Kharas of Ottawa was exec producer and scripts and voice supervisor. Other Ottawa-based Canadians credited in the production include Robin Smith who was all the voices, Andrew Huggett as music composer, Robin Dumas for audio post and GAPC for voice recording and audio effects. The series is distributed worldwide by CCI Releasing of Toronto and may be ordered through www.ccientertainment.com. DVD sales in Canada are handled by Ottawa-based Cinerio Ent. and may be ordered through www.cinerioentertainment.com. Select Loblaws Superstores carry the DVD.

The other nominees include: ARTHUR 910 "Binky Goes Nuts" and "Breezy Listening Blues" from WGBH Educational Foundation, PRIDE from A&E Network, SISIMPUR from Sesame Workshop and THE ROOTS OF RELIGION from Discovery Channel.

The award is presented by CINE, founded in 1957 to distinguish excellence in professional filmmaking. The Golden Eagle is recognized around the world as a symbol of the highest production standards in film and video. More than 300 judges viewed and evaluated hundreds of entries for the awards. Prior recipients of CINE Golden Eagles include Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and many others distinguished for their work with the moving image.

HONK, TOOT AND SWO-SWOOSH is Hollands first 3D animated series. The series features three enduring friends: Honk the car, Toot the boat and Swo-swoosh the helicopter. The setting is in fictional Springland, a happy, safe and idyllic country environment where Honk and his best friend Swo-Swoosh have lots of adventures and discover how to negotiate the correct way to solve everyday problems. Toot the Boat is an older male character always at hand to help Honk and Swo-Swoosh find the correct solutions.
