Sony is making plans to unify the international distribution of its game and core electronics products next year, VARIETY reports, citing the NIKKEI newspaper.

As part of a cost-cutting move, Sony Computer Entertainment will no longer have separate distribution deals for PlayStation 3 and instead will be combined with the parent company's other distribution operations.

Sony is making the change as it foresees a 50 percent increase in distribution costs in the coming year all the while it hopes to bring its game business to profitability by March 2011.
