The Mist On DVD

THE MIST, with vfx by CafeFX, is now out on DVD, either in a two-disc Collector's Edition or on regular DVD.

THE MIST was originally part of King's short story collection SKELETON CREW. Set in a small town, a murderous fog sends frightened townsfolk to hide out in a supermarket, where vicious creatures prey upon them. Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden and Andre Braugher starred in the Frank Darabont-helmed film.

The Kite Runner On DVD

CafeFX did the vfx for THE KITE RUNNER, an adaptation of the novel about life in Afghanistan by Khaled Hosseini.

The DVD features audio commentary from director Marc Foster, Hosseini and screenwriter David Benioff. Featurettes include "Words From THE KITE RUNNER," "Images From THE KITE RUNNER," and a public service announcement from Hosseini.

It's A Big Big World On DVD

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing two new DVD releases of from the Emmy-nominated PBS KIDS series IT'S A BIG, BIG WORLD on March 25.

The first volume, "Be Healthy and Happy," teaches valuable lessons about how animals of all kinds take care of themselves.

The second volume, "Everybody's Different," encourages exploring diversity in nature.

Each volume will feature five entertaining adventures and will include a subscription card that offers 25 percent off a year's subscription to the new preschool magazine, HIGHLIGHTS HIGH FIVE.

The new IT'S A BIG BIG WORLD DVDs will retail for a family-friendly price of $12.99 each.

Created by Mitchell Kriegman IT'S A BIG, BIG WORLD is a ground-breaking series that encourages parents and children to develop environmentally friendly habits and choices.

Kriegman has won three Daytime Emmy's for his work as a children's series director.

Set in an exotic rainforest, IT'S A BIG, BIG WORLD follows Snook, an energetic tree sloth, and his friends as they learn about the world around them in stories packed with music, humor and adventure.

The Third: The Girl With The Blue Eye, Volume Five On DVD

Right Stuf/Nozomi Entertainment and Kadokawa Pictures USA are releasing THE THIRD: THE GIRL WITH THE BLUE EYE, VOL 5: SHADOWS OF THE PAST on March 25.

Containing episodes 17 through 20, The Third is guarding the planet on high from their shining city of Hyperius. The Third may seem to be perfect, but even they have dark secrets they'd rather remained buried. When Honoka heads off for a rendezvous about a new job, the jack-of-all-trades discovers that her client is a particularly high-ranking Third named Fila Marique. But just as their meeting begins, Fila's auto-enforcers turn on their master and attempt to kill her. It seems The Third's past has come back to haunt them, and Honoka is caught in the crossfire.

The 24-episode anime, also known as THE THIRD: AOI HITOMI NO SHOUJO, is based upon a popular series of novels and short stories written by Ryou Hoshino and illustrated by Nao Goto.

Spanning more than 16 volumes, the original fiction has appeared in Japan's DRAGON MAGAZINE since 1999, alongside the serialized novels that inspired the hit FULL METAL PANIC! and SLAYERS anime series.

XEBEC (D.N.ANGEL, NEGIMA!, FAFNER, ELEMENTAL GELADE) produced the animation for the TV series, which ran on Japan's WOWOW satellite channel -- known for original anime programming such as COWBOY BEBOP, ERGO PROXY, THE BIG O AND PARANOIA AGENT -- from April through October of 2006.

Volumes 1 through 4 of the series are also available.
