Disney's TARZAN premiers on video and DVD on February 1, 2000, and a TARZAN
COLLECTOR'S EDITION DVD will be released on March 21, 2000. TARZAN will
feature the "Strangers Like Me" music video by Phil Collins, and the DVD
will be DVD-ROM-enabled (with internet links) and loaded with exciting
extras for all the family, including a never-before-seen recording session
by Phil Collins and guests, a Read-Along, a Trivia Game, various sneak
peeks and many other features. Spanish and French versions of the video
will also be available. The VHS retails for US$26.99 and the DVD retails
for US$39.99. The TARZAN COLLECTOR'S EDITION DVD, which will retail for
US$49.99, features audio commentary by the creators -- Producer Bonnie
Arnold and Co-Directors Kevin Lima and Chris Buck -- and includes
supplements detailing the history and development of the film, the legacy
of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan, and early presentation reels of the film.
The collector's DVD also features an extensive look at the music of TARZAN,
and includes interviews with Phil Collins and his original song demos, as
well as the ``You'll Be in My Heart'' music video (to be confirmed). There
is also behind-the-scenes production material including footage of voice
casting, storyreels, rough animation and sound design, along with
theatrical trailers and publicity materials. Disney's TARZAN, which is
based on TARZAN OF THE APES, the first in a series of Tarzan novels by
Edgar Rice Burroughs, stars Glenn Close, Rosie O'Donnell, Minnie Driver,
Wayne Knight, Nigel Hawthorne, as well as Tony Goldwyn as the voice of
Tarzan.
