Homburg New Finance Director at TV-Loonland

Karl W. Homburg (48) has been appointed finance director at TV-Loonland, following Selma Käppel, who has been chairman of the managing board at TV-Loonland since Jan. 21, 2005. Homburg, who answers directly to the managing board, oversees mergers, acquisitions, finance and controlling.

The production/distribution companys finances came into question earlier this year when TV-Loonland head Peter Voelkle left the company as shadows of tax evasion charges loom over him from the Munich district attorney's office.

We are delighted to welcome Karl-Wilhelm Homburg to TV-Loonland, said Käppel. He is a seasoned specialist not only in finance and controlling but in the film industry as well. Previously, Homburg was head of investor relations and corporate communications for Senator Entertainment AG, one of the leading companies in the German film industry. Since its IPO in January 1999, Senator Ent. developed into a multinational group with an extremely broad value chain.

Homburg, who has a degree in economics, also teaches finance at the Berlin School of Economics. He has served in an advisory function in numerous corporate projects and has many years of experience in banking and finance. He was an investment banker and analyst at the multinational Bankgesellschaft Berlin AG from 1994 to 2001.

Munich-based TV-Loonland (www.loonland.com) is an integrated media company and counts among the leading international producer/distributors of animation for children, youth and families. With its own development teams and production facilities in Continental Europe, Great Britain and the U.S., a comprehensive rights catalog as well as a worldwide operating distribution team, TV-Loonland has today become a world leader among the independent majors in the industry.
