Hollywood Film Fest Honors Shrek 2 & Dykstra

The 8th Annual Hollywood Film Festival's "Hollywood Awards" ceremony, honoring independent filmmakers and established Hollywood professionals, was held on Oct. 18, 2004, before a standing-room-only audience of more than 1,200 Hollywood Film Festival attendees at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. SHREK 2, directed by Andrew Adamson, Kelly Asbury and Conrad Vernon, was honored with a special award for animation. The box office hit was also in the running for the "Hollywood Movie of the Year Award, but lost out to Michael Moores Bush bashing propaganda flick, FAHRENHEIT 9/11. Visual effects artist John Dykstra was honored for his stellar career in vfx, highlighted by his work on this years SPIDER-MAN 2.

Festival co-chair Paula Wagner said, "There is no more appropriate place than the Hollywood Film Festival to honor the illustrious talents of all these magnificent artists who have created some of the most memorable characters and truly unforgettable films."
