Hollywood Center Studios Debuts New VFX Shooting Stage

Addressing the needs of commercial producers and others involved in high-end visual effects production, Hollywood Center Studios has unveiled a new 4,500-square-foot shooting stage with a three-wall, hard cove cyc. Dubbed Stage 12, the new space can accommodate the popular motorized Fisher Light rigs, making it ideal for car shoots, as well as bluescreen or greenscreen work.

Our hard cyc stages have traditionally been our most popular shooting stages, said Hollywood Center Studios Tim Mahoney. The cycs on our larger stages are sometimes unavailable for long periods of time because of other film or television projects. We built this stage especially with our commercial clients in mind. The cyc is of the same high-quality as on our big stages and the space includes all of the same amenities necessary for a successful commercial shoot. Mahoney added that the stage is also well suited for music video and motion capture shoots, including those for videogame productions.

The stage measures approximately 83 x 53 x 20. The hard-wall cyc has a continuous seamless cove made from poured concrete. It measures 50-feet along the back wall, 50-feet along each side, and 20-feet high. The space also includes a pre-hung pipe grid, a 2400 amp production power supply and a silent heating and air conditioning system.

Ancillary features include a production office with high-speed Internet access, a dressing room suite with hair and make-up facilities, an off-stage dimmer room, easy vehicular access and ample parking on the studio lot.

Hollywood Center Studios is located at 1040 North Las Palmas Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90038. For more information, call (323) 860-0000 or visit www.hollywoodcenter.com.
