With premieres in the U.K. and France, HOLLOW MAN emptied the pockets of moviegoers world wide in this weeks international box office. In the U.K., the updated Invisible Man tale scared up US$2.4 million at #1. SCARY MOVIE slipped from second to third, with a gross of $1.08 million, lifting its British cume to $12.5 million. In 5th place, SNATCH grabbed $735,482, raising its British cume to $16.12 million. SPACE COWBOYS floated in at #6, grossing $497,398 and bringing its British cume to $1.67 million. Plummeting from fourth to eighth, SHAFT scrounged up $423,948, advancing its British cume to $3.64 million. Holding on to ninth, STUART LITTLE landed another $249,012, elevating its British cume to $25.13 million. Rounding out the top ten for the second straight week, CHICKEN RUN clucked its way to an additional $243,786, escalating its British cume to $41.97 million. In its debut in France, HOLLOW MAN harvested an amazing $4.32 million. Last weeks top flick, WHAT LIES BENEATH sunk to second, with a gross of $2.36 million, floating its French cume to $5.62 million. In at #4, SPACE COWBOYS rounded up $895,469, raising its French cume to $4.46 million. GONE IN 60 SECONDS finished fifth, grossing $832,378 thus advancing its French cume to $14.14 million. Holding on to eighth, NUTTY PROFESSOR II gobbled up another $323,725, stuffing its French cume to $3.7 million. In ninth, U-571 torpedoed another $299,323, raising its French cume to $2.13 million. Finishing out the top ten, X-MEN mutated ticket receipts into $297,754, increasing its cume to $11.96 million. Elsewhere, HOLLOW MAN held on to the top spot in Spain, with a ticket take of $1.34 million, advancing its cume to $7.01 million. SPACE COWBOYS made its Spanish nod in third, with a gross of $776,458. Jet Lis Kung Ku flick, ROMEO MUST DIE, leaped in at #5, grossing $299,053, bringing its Spanish cume to $865,171. Perched in sixth, CHICKEN RUN raked in $275,978, elevating its Spanish cume to $3.78 million. Cooling down, THE PERFECT STORM surfaced in seventh, with a gross of $215,928, lifting its Spanish cume to $6.18 million. In eighth, TITAN A.E. added $186,645 to its Spanish cume of $1.39 million. Rounding out the top ten, SOUTH PARK: BIGGER, LONGER & UNCUT collected $156,623, escalating its Spanish cume to $2.54 million.
