Holdovers Lead Top Seven Spots at Weekend Box Office

The top seven films at the box office remained virtually unchanged, save for some slight shuffling. Warner Bros./New Line comedy FOUR CHRISTMASES stayed at the top with a haul of $16.76M and $69.4M in two weeks.

TWILIGHT (Summit Ent., vfx by CIS Vancouver, ILM, Catalyst Media, Rez-Illusion, PIC Agency, Lola and Gentle Giant) moved up from third to second place in its third week out, earning $13.05M and a total gross of $138.4M.

Trading places with the tween vampire saga, Disney's animated feature BOLT moved to third place with $9.8M and in three weeks has made $79.38M.

Epic AUSTRALIA (Fox, vfx by Animal Logic, Photon VFX, Complete Post, Digital Pictures Iloura, Evil Eye Pictures, Framestore, Fuel VFX, Hydraulx, The LaB Syndney, Lola Visual Effects and Rising Sun Pictures) moved up from fifth to fourth place with $7.05M and in two weeks has made $30.9M.

Sony's QUANTUM OF SOLACE (vfx by Double Negative, Framestore, MK12, Machine and MPC) moved from fourth to fifth place with $6.75M and in four weeks has made $151.62M.

Staying in sixth place was Paramount/DreamWorks' animated MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA with $5.079M, with a five-week cume of $165.65M.

Lionsgate's TRANSPORTER 3 (vfx by Duran Duboi) also remained steady at seventh place with $4.7M and $25.55M in two weeks.

Also from Lionsgate was comic adaptation sequel PUNISHER: WAR ZONE (vfx by CIS London, Pixel Magic, XY&Z, 2-G, PIC and Maestro FX), which opened in eighth place with $4.27M.

Opening in 686 theaters was Sony's CADILLAC RECORDS (vfx by Base FX), earning $3.445M for ninth place.

Universal's comedy ROLE MODELS filled out the top ten with $2.57M and a five-week gross of $61.6M.

In animation, Warner Bros.' IMAX reissue of THE POLAR EXPRESS made 4146,228 and has a three-week cume of $433,662. Disney's BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA made $114,523 and in 10 weeks is at $92.23M.

IGOR (MGM) made another $65,509 for a 12-week cume of $19.33M. Disney-Pixar's WALL-E made $46,898 and in 24 weeks has made $223.7M. Summit Ent.'s FLY ME TO THE MOON made $15,525 and in 17 weeks has earned $12.357M. FEAR(S) OF THE DARK from IFC made $2,210 for a seven-week total of $72,903.
