HK Series Travels the World

Hong Kong-based animation producer Jidou has inked new broadcast deals in Japan, Spain, Greece and Cyprus for its series JIDOUGAMES, reports C21 MEDIA. The series has already been sold in its home country, as well as in Indonesia and the Philippines.

In Japan, JIDOUGAMES' representative TI ComNet has closed deals with broadcasters Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting (CBC) and J-Sports, in which the series will make its Japanese debut later this year in TV, mobile, online and DVD.

In Spain, the series has been bought by Basque media group Euskal Irrati Telebista (EiTB), which has provisionally scheduled it for broadcast during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, while Greek TV distributor White Fox has sold the series to Athens-based Channel 9, as well as CNC Plus, a free national TV channel in Cyprus. The series is scheduled to launch there this month.

JIDOUGAMES follows Jidou, a dog, and his friends as they traverse the globe and compete in sporting events. The winner of each event receives a mystic orb, and the collector of the greatest number will be able to heal the world.
