'The Hive' Licensing Program Debuts in Iberia

BRB Internacional launches licensing program for hit animated series The Hive in Spain and Portugal.

The Hive, a cartoon series about the adventures of an endearing family of bees who live in a beautiful little beehive, has been launched in the licensing sector across Spain and Portugal through BRB Internacional. The series (78x7’), represented on a global level by Space Enterprises, is currently enjoying great success all over the world, including in Spain, where it premiered just over a year ago on Disney Junior. BRB will be acting as exclusive M&L agent on the Iberian Peninsula.

Aimed at pre-schoolers, The Hive revolves around Buzzbee, a little bee about 5 years old who lives with Mamma Bee, Pappa Bee and his little sister Rubee in a happy beehive. It’s a modern series and very colorful, which allows it to quickly connect with children and help them understand daily life in a simple and positive way. The brand is already supported by prestigious partners across the world, such as Mookie (master toy), Leap Frog (educational/interactive games), Avanquest (videogames), Ravensburger (puzzles) and Igloo (books). A wide-ranging broadcast platform is also in place, including in the U.K. (ITV1/CITV), Australia (ABC) and Finland (YLE), while Disney Junior broadcasts the show in over 150 different territories (including Latin America).

Javier Biern, Director of Licensing at BRB Internacional, states: “The series is tremendously entertaining and it’s enjoying great audience success in all the countries it’s premiered in. Its design style and product lines cover practically all the categories for a pre-school audience, so we are confident that it’s going to be a big success in Spain, as well as Portugal where it premieres next year.”

Mark Hurry, of Space Enterprises, adds: ”We`re really pleased to have BRB on board for The Hive. The ratings remain strong everywhere, so we look forward to opening up our licensing programme in Spain and Portugal. We also hope to see a terrestrial partner come on board soon.”
