High School Musical 3 Repeats Senior Year

Disney's HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3: SENIOR YEAR did repeat business over the Halloween weekend with $15.3M. That's a drop of more than 64 percent, but easily good enough for first place. The film, made on a $11M budget, has done $62.03M in two weeks.

Newcomer ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO opened in second place with $10.07M for the Weinstein Company.

Third place went to horror holdover SAW V (Lionsgate, vfx by Switch VFX) with $9.74M and a two-week cume of $45.47M.

Expanding from a handful of theaters to 1,850, the Clint Eastwood-directed and Angelina Jolie-starrer CHANGELING (Universal, vfx by CIS Vancouver and Pac Title) made $9.35M and just more than $10M in two weeks.

Frightener THE HAUNTING OF MOLLY HARTLEY (Freestyle) opened in fifth place and scared up $5.42M.

BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA (Disney, vfx by Tippett Studio, Cinesite, Image Engine Design, K.N.B. Effects Group, Kerner Optical, Proof, Realscan 3D and Svengali Visual Effects) dropped to sixth place with $4.86M and has a five-week gross of $84.18M.

Fox Searchlight's drama THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES (vfx by Hammerhead Productions and Lola Visual Effects) placed seventh with $4.01M and $25.3M in three weeks.

Eighth place went to videogame adaption MAX PAYNE (vfx by Mr. X and SPIN VFX) made $3.69M and has made Fox $35.54M in three weeks.

Paramount/DreamWorks' EAGLE EYE (vfx by Sony Pictures Imageworks, The Third Floor and Kerner Optical) placed ninth with $3.5M and over six weeks has earned $92.6M.

Rounding out the top ten was cop actioner PRIDE & GLORY (Warner Bros./New Line, vfx by Animal Makers and Big Film Design) with $3.36M and a two-week gross of $11.72M.

In animation, the 2008 re-issue of TIM BURTON'S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS in 3-D (Disney) made $294,622 in 209 theaters and $867,364 in two weeks. Disney-Pixar's WALL-E made another $211,392 and has a 19-week cume of $222.7M.

MGM's IGOR made $84,985 and has a seven-week total of $18.86M. Warner Bros.' STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS made $28,484 and $35.1M in 12 weeks. Scary FEAR(S) OF THE DARK (IFC) expanded slightly from one theater to eight theaters, making $21,928 and a two-week total of $33,620.

FLY ME TO THE MOON made $14,558 for Summit Ent., and $12.15M in 12 weeks. SPACE CHIMPS (Fox) did $7,403 and over 16 weeks has made $30.08M.
