Helmintoller New S4 Studios Creative Director

Thomas Helmintoller joins S4 Studios in the newly created post of creative director. A specialist in graphics production for trailers, music videos, movies and home video packaging, Helmintoller designed air combat sequences of DER ROTE BARON (THE RED BARON), an international co-production being distributed by Warner Bros. in October 2007.

Helmintoller began his career as a clothing designer for action sports companies, such as Quicksilver, BUM and the Hard Rock Café. A freelance interactive and advertising designer over the last 10 years, his work has included DVD menu and package design, TV spot animation and illustration for DVD releases, including LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, THE PERFECT STORM, GLORY and THE WIZARD OF OZ. His TV spot work includes concept and design on spots for SPIDER-MAN, XXX, THE CONTENDER, THE PIANIST and DirecTV.

His broadcast branding work includes campaigns for Discovery Channel, Hallmark Hall of Fame, Animal Planet, as well as S4 Studios' recent brand launch of NBC Universal's Chiller Network and the 7-7-07 S.O.S Concerts, hosted by Al Gore. Larry Le Francis S4 partner (with Geoffrey Kater) said Helmintoller will help expand the company's growing broadcast design business, particularly in its branding work for NBC Universal's Emerging Networks division. Helmintoller also brings his years of experience to the studio's core businesses of broadcast design, 3D animation and MPAA fixes for trailers and content creation. "Thomas gives us a more diverse slate of production capabilities and will introduce us to new artistic territory," Le Francis said.
