Hazy Mills to Shop Pooch Café For Animated Series

Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner's Hazy Mills Prods. has optioned the comic strip POOCH CAFé to develop as a half-hour animated comedy series, it was reported in THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

POOCH CAFé, created by cartoonist/animator Paul Gilligan, features a mutt named Poncho who frequents the local watering hole called Pooch Café, where he discusses with his doggie friends such issues as tail-chasing, cat surveillance and the embarrassment of toilet bowl water breath.

Hazy Mills is planning to shop the project around to the networks, starting with NBC, where the company is based. Hazy stars on NBC's WILL & GRACE.

Distributed to more than 150 newspapers worldwide by Universal Press Syndicate, the comic strip is also featured in two book collections from Andrews McMeel Publishing, ALL DOGS NATURALLY KNOW HOW TO SWIM (2003) and NO COLLAR, NO SERVICE, slated for release in the spring.

Bridget McMeel and John Glynn of AMUSE, Universal Press Syndicates division responsible for bringing its talent to Hollywood, will co-produce POOCH CAFé with Hazy Mills. Glynn edits the comic strip.
