Guru Studio Expands Content Team with Rachel Marcus

Former Nickelodeon producer joins award-winning Canadian studio as Development Executive.

Rachel Marcus Toronto, Canada -- Guru Studio announced the appointment of Rachel Marcus as Development Executive.  Rachel joins the Award-winning Canadian studio directly from her position as Digital Content Development Producer at Nickelodeon Networks in New York.

Reporting to Executive Vice President Mary Bredin, Rachel will be responsible for developing all content for the studio, sourcing new IPs, and overseeing strategic positioning.  She will work closely with the studio’s creative resources on both domestic and international content.

Rachel joins Guru Studio with extensive experience discovering new talent and innovative IP for both linear and interactive entertainment.  While at leading kids network Nickelodeon, Rachel developed new digital games and short form linear content that drove interactive web experiences for Nick.com and Nick Jr.

Specific responsibilities for the Development Executive include working with artists to source, create and pitch new concepts; researching trends and gaps in the marketplace; meeting with broadcasters to promote content; building relationships between creative and finance partners; and working with the President and EVP to develop new growth strategies.  Rachel begins her new role at Guru Studio in Toronto on March 27, 2015.
