Jennifer Mason joins management team to support content development and studio growth.

Toronto-based Guru Studio has announced the appointment of Jennifer Mason to Director of Marketing. Mason will oversee both the trade and consumer marketing strategies for the Studio's growing business divisions including production, distribution, merchandising, original IP development and digital content.

Mason joins Guru Studio with over ten years of experience in marketing and communications at some of Canada’s top media companies including Blue Ant Media, Alliance Atlantis and CBC Television. She has been responsible for successfully launching and growing some of Canada's best known media brands including HGTV, National Geographic, BBC CANADA, and Smithsonian Channel, through an innovative array of consumer, trade and communication initiatives.

“Jennifer has a keen eye and we are very excited to have her join Guru and lead our efforts to promote content and build brands," said Frank Falcone, President and Creative Director, Guru Studio. "With our animated properties enjoying worldwide success, and our business growing apace, it is essential that we continue to strategically support our brands, both within the industry and on a consumer level.”

“Guru is a creative and innovative entertainment company that is recognized globally for their award-winning content and I am thrilled to be joining this great team," Mason added.

Specific responsibilities at Guru include marketing the company’s animated series, interactive IP and Studio brand as well as developing licensing programs with broadcasters and agents worldwide. She will also oversee the strategy and promotion of all digital content and social media initiatives for the Studio and its subsidiary brands. Mason begins her new role at Guru launching a new web pilot, Nemesis for Teletoon.com and promotion for the new Dinopaws interactive game available on Treehousetv.com and iOS mobile version on iTunes in March.
