Grim Adventures Friday the 13th From Cartoon Network

THE GRIM ADVENTURES OF BILLY AND MANDY returns June 13, 2003 to Cartoon Network, as a full-fledged 30-minute series at 7:00 pm and replays at 10:00 pm. The toon net obviously isn't afraid of American superstitions about Friday the 13th, considered a bad luck day by many in the U.S. Then again, this macabre yet hilarious tale had good luck when it won The Big Pick in August 2000. The toon, created by Maxwell Atoms, beat out a number of different pilots to be selected by the viewers to become a 13-episode series, launched in October 2001.

The series follows the everyday trials and mishaps of childhood as experienced by an exuberant if not too smart little boy, Billy, and his wiser, fearless and remarkably deadpan friend, Mandy, in the average American town of Endsville. Billy is goofy and easily amused. He loves TV (especially cartoons) and video games. The two become best friends with the Grim Reaper after winning an otherworldly limbo contest against the messenger of Death. Together, this unlikely trio deals with typical suburban challenges school, family, and dispatching unwanted visitors from the spirit world.

The second season offers skewed adventures in both the spectral world and the suburban town of Endsville. Characters from the first season including smooth-talking Negril, Eris, the goddess of chaos, and Hoss Delgado, the noted spectral exterminator, join Billy, Mandy and Grim in this new season.

The June 13 premiere features:"Toadblatts School of Sorcery"- In an homage to the Harry Potter books, Grim gets Billy and Mandy into Toadblatts Summer School of Sorcery. There they meet a young wizard who is terrible at magic but very good at taking credit for everything that Billy and Mandy do. "Educating Grim"- Mandys arch nemesis, Mindy, befriends Grim. But is she all that she seems? "Its Hokey Mon!"- Grim brings Billy and Irwins monster cards to life.

Another notable night is June 20, featuring: "Night of the Living Grim"- Grim gets sick and, as a result, becomes mortal. "Brown Evil, Parts 1 and Two"- Billy makes a batch of brownies, but substitutes Grims Evil Powder for salt. Of course, every zombie in town is craving this delicious treat, trapping Grim, Billy and Mandy in their home. Their pal, Hoss Delgado, the noted spectral exterminator, shows up to help defeat the brownie-loving zombies.
