Spend an afternoon with Academy Award-nominated women filmmakers and learn about the different crafts and career opportunities the film industry offers. Many of the women profiled in the recently released book GREAT WOMEN OF FILM will be on hand to give advice to women interested in a career in the film industry. Visual-effects producer Debbie Denise (HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE) and special-effects technician Christy Sumner (DANTE'S PEAK) join directors Kasi Lemmons (EVE'S BAYOU) and Allison Anders (THINGS BEHIND THE SUN), as well as sound editor Teri Dorman (PEARL HARBOR), editor Maysie Hoy (THE JOY LUCK CLUB), prop master Trish Gallaher Glenn (THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT), script supervisor Kerry Lyn McKissick (A FEW GOOD MEN), and set decorator Jan Bergstrom (AMERICAN BEAUTY). Casting director Valerie McCaffrey, VP of Fine Line/New Line feature casting, will also be present. This one-day only event takes place on Saturday, March 30, 2002 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Borders Books & Music, 1360 Westwood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California.
