Gravity, the recently re-launched and rebranded international creative, content and brand communications company, formerly known as Rhino, announced today that Shemi Levi has been promoted to Chief Digital Officer and Executive Vice-President. Levi is based in New York and reports directly to Zviah Eldar, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Creative Officer of Gravity. Levi will be responsible for global digital leadership for all Gravity clients. In his new role, he will oversee and implement the newly rebranded company’s Digital offering and complement the company’s other key groups - Features and Commercials. He joined the recently re-launched company as Vice-President of Digital in early 2009.
Levi has 18 years of experience as an expert in international marketing and distribution of mobile content. He has pioneered the development of groundbreaking Internet and mobile platforms in North America, Europe and Israel. Prior to joining Gravity, Levi co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of GS New Media, where he developed and distributed original as well as licensed content for the web and mobile. While working at GS New Media, he created and distributed GEMMA!, the world’s first animated series for mobile and then migrated the Gemma! brand to children’s television. Also under Levi's guidance, GS launched BlogTV™ Canada with Alliance Atlantis, Canada’s largest broadcaster, and created a marketing partnership with Google.
Additionally, Levi has an extensive background in developing online virtual worlds and gaming sites/applications. Specifically, he is currently spearheading the development of a social networking game to complete the cross-platform growth of the television media property “The Saddle Club.” Earlier in his career, Levi served as a marketing executive with orange, the highly innovative, market-leading mobile carrier in Europe. There, he gained an international reputation for creating successful product marketing campaigns in the early stages of original content and game creation for 3G phones. After orange™, Levi founded HARU, focusing on the development of applications for streaming video and mobile subscribers in Europe.
