Fox Filmed Entertainment (FFE) has promoted Matthew Glotzer to the newly created post of vp, digital media, responsible for developing content distribution opportunities across a wide range of new and emerging technology platforms, as well as actively pursuing long-term initiatives with major IT, consumer electronics and telecommunications companies. He reports to digital media president, Peter Levinsohn and will work closely with the Fox Filmed Ent. Groups strategic planning, engineering, content protection and distribution groups.
Matt has done a tremendous job in helping to establish FFEs foothold in the digital media space. Now I am eager to have him fully devoted to optimizing the companys transition to these new business models, commented Levinsohn.
Glotzer joined Fox in 1999 as director, finance in the companys domestic home entertainment unit, moving to the studios corporate business development group in 2000. VP of VOD and business development since 2001, he joined the pay television distribution business in March 2003 with responsibilities for licensing film and television content to video-on-demand platforms around the world.
Since 2002, he has served as a Fox representative to Digital Cinema Initiatives, the seven-studio venture developing specifications for digital projection in theatres, and has assumed a founding members seat on the Board of Coral, the recently established forum of leading CE, IT and content companies aimed at achieving interoperability across digital rights management systems.
Prior to joining Fox, he held positions in strategic planning with EMI Music, and in investment banking with Lehman Brothers.
