Globe To Helm DreamWorks Animation Worldwide Consumer Products

Responsible for promotion and merchandising campaigns for all DreamWorks SKG event films since joining the company in 1996, Anne Globe has been named head of Worldwide Consumer Products and Promotions for DreamWorks Animation. She will be responsible for overseeing worldwide brand planning and promotion for all DreamWorks properties, with a focus on developing and implementing marketing strategies for merchandising and promotional programs in support of the studios animated and live-action feature film releases and television animation. In addition, Globe will oversee all product placement activities for the studio.

Anne Globe is an outstanding executive whose creative approach and savvy business acumen have already paid dividends for numerous DreamWorks feature films, said Jeffrey Katzenberg, ceo, DreamWorks Animation. We are thrilled that she is expanding her role in consumer products as we consider her an integral member of our management team.

Globes merchandising and promotional campaigns include the most recent animated hit, SHARK TALE, SHREK 2 and SHREK, which won the first Academy Award ever presented for Best Animated Feature in 2002.

She is credited with securing more than $100 million in promotional support for the theatrical releases of SHREK, SHREK 2 and SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON, including partnerships with Burger King, Kroger, Baskin Robbins and M & M Mars. She also secured a first-of-its-kind five-picture deal with Burger King, and a multi-picture program with General Mills. She was recognized by PROMO MAGAZINE as one of the Best Marketers of the Year in 2001.

Prior to joining the DreamWorks Consumer Products division, Globe served as vp of promotions at MCA/Universal where she developed the strategy for the promotional campaign for the 1997 blockbuster release of Steven Spielbergs THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK. During her tenure, she was also responsible for national promotion strategies for the companys event film, television, and classic properties, including BABE, APOLLO 13, CASPER and THE FLINTSTONES.

Before joining MCA/Universal, Globe was director of national promotions for Universal Pictures and held a similar position with Universal Studios Hollywood. She started her entertainment marketing career at The Walt Disney Co.

DreamWorks Animation SKG is principally devoted to developing and producing computer-animated, or CG-animated, feature films, as well as consumer products to support the release of its films.
