Glen Keane to Present ‘Duet’ at Bristol Encounters

Disney veteran and animation legend Glen Keane to present his latest short film, ‘Duet,’ at the 2014 Bristol Encounters festival.

Couldn’t make it to Google’s I/O Conference in June? Bristol festivalgoers are in for a special treat with the announcement of the latest addition to the 2014 Encounters Festival lineup.

On Friday, September 19th, Disney veteran and animation legend Glen Keane will be in attendance at the Festival to present his latest short film, Duet.

First presented as part of a special ATAP (Advanced Technology and Projects) Session at the Google I/O Conference in San Francisco, California, Duet tells the story of Mia and Tosh and how their individual paths in life weave together to create an inspired duet. The unique, interactive nature of the story allows the viewer to seamlessly follow the journey of either of the two characters from birth to adulthood.

The film is part of Google’s Spotlight Stories series, where films are designed to be experienced on mobile devices with viewer interaction. Duet is the first film in the series to be traditionally animated.

Keane’s hugely successful career at Disney saw him create and animate such memorable characters as Aladdin, the Beast, Pocahontas, Tarzan and Ariel, before leaving the company in 2012 to form Glen Keane Productions. The Encounters presentation, which will include a not-to-be-missed filmmaker Q&A, will take place on Friday, September 19, at 10:30AM at Bristol’s Watershed Cinema.
