JULIE & JULIA (Sony, vfx by Brainstorm Digital) made an impressive debut at #2, bringing in $20.1M.

In the #3 position, G-FORCE (Buena Vista, with vfx by Asylum VFX, Hatch Production and Sony Pictures Imageworks) earned $9.8M -- down 44%. G-FORCE has earned $86.M to date.

At #4, HARRY POTTER & THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE (WB, with vfx by ILM and Double Negative and CEG Media, Cinesite, Foreign Office, Gentle Giant Studios, Kerner Optical, Moving Picture Company, Plowman Craven & Associates, Rising Sun Pictures and The Visual Effects Company) earned $8.8.M -- down 50%. HALF-BLOOD PRINCE has made $273.8.M since its U.S debut.

Judd Apatow’s FUNNY PEOPLE (Universal, with vfx by Hammerhead Productions) fell to #5 with $7.8.M and a total gross of $40.4M. FUNNY PEOPLE was down 65% with filmgoers.

Falling to #6 was THE UGLY TRUTH (Sony, with vfx by Furious FX, Gradient Effects, LOOK! Effects, Luma Pictures and Proof) taking in another $7M -- down 46%. The romantic comedy has earned a total of $69M.

The #7 spot belonged to A PERFECT GETAWAY (Universal, with vfx by Comen VFX) earning a disappointing $5.7M in its premiere week.

At #8, kid favorite, ALIENS IN THE ATTIC (Fox, with vfx by CIS Vancouver, Rhythm & Hues, Soho VFX and Gentle Giant Studios) collected $4M, down 50% -- with a cume of $16.2M.

#9 with audiences was ORPHAN (WB, with vfx by Hybride Technologies, Lola Visual Effects, Image Engine Design, Prologue Films and Pacific Title and Art Studio) bringing in $3.7M, down 50% -- earning $34.8M to date.

Cracking the Top 10, at #10, (500) DAYS OF SUMMER (Fox Searchlight, vfx by Imaginary Forces) earned $3.7M up 34%. The sleeper hit has taken-in a total gross of $12.3M in 4 weeks.
